HO Guide

The HO guide is a personal project by yours trully.Sometimes, tagging can be excruciating, tiring and depressing. You always want to ” go home and read up more about it”, but instead find yourself hitting the sack upon arriving home.

And so, I have come up with these introductory notes, all from my personal working experience. It’s a fun way to sum up the whole posting, as well as a good gift for the dept.

There are currently 5 volumes to date, hopefully they may assist you in your early tagging days.

If you would like to join my project, kindly email your notes to gerardloh@hotmail.com

Your contribution is most welcome!

Hi Leena, You are most welcomed. Ampang is an excellent place for housemanship training.

Unfortunately I am no longer working there. I am serving in the wonderful town of Miri.

It’s been a while since these notes were written. So do bear in mind some of them may not be up to date. Always read the latest CPGs along the way. Cheers!

Hi Dr Loh! Thanks for the information! I’m starting work in Hospital Ampang next month. How is the surgical dept there? Is the tagging hectic?

    • gerardloh says:

      Hi Geraldine,
Welcome to Ampang! It’s a great place for training. Surgical dept is one of my favourites. Great boss Ms Aishah.

Tagging isn’t that bad..focus on clerking and presenting cases. Mr. K is very particular about that..

Otherwise I’m sure u will enjoy HA.

      All the best,

Thanks for the guide for housemen. Its a great work.
However, I have tried severally to obtain permission from you to allow be adapt your presentation on a typical day in the housemans life for my handbook on internship.
    Kindly reply to this request

    • gerardloh says:

      Hi Tony,

      Sorry for the late reply.

You may use the notes but with one condition that it is not published for sale.

We strictly forbid any publishing for sale. Thank you.

      • Tony Udosen says:

Thanks for your reply Gerad. Sorry, I did not see it before today.
The book is actually intended for sale and “the typical day in Houseman’s life” is only a paraphrase/modification in a chapter. I have also elaborately acknowledged and referenced it.
I request for your understanding and permission

        Thank you

      • Tony Udosen says:

        Dear Gerard,
Did you see my last request. Kindly consider my plea. Thank you

      • gerardloh says:
